I was talking with a real estate agent last week that has told me in the past, that she hates getting real estate recruiting letters but would sit down with a real estate recruiter if she got a phone call.
So, she finally got a phone call and she asked the real estate recruiter, “What is your commission [...]

I see and hear about real estate offices asking their real estate agents to lead generate. These real estate offices ask their real estate agents to block out time to lead generate 2-3 hours every morning. This is great! These are realistic expectations for leadership to give. However the environment that leadership is providing does [...]

I haven’t decided if Fridays will be just casual Fridays or business casual Fridays.
Jeans and t-shirt or Docker’s and Polo-shirt?

This has nothing to do with business models. This has nothing to do with franchise or independent. This is about retention of your real estate agents. Recruiting real estate agents into your real estate company is important and retention of your real estate agents is even more important. It does no good if you recruit [...]

I have told you that when you are trying to recruit a real estate agent that the commission split has nothing to do with the recruiting process. Bold statement?
Not really. A good real estate agent, the kind you want to recruit is smart, savvy and understands that they can get a good commission split from [...]

Michael Watkins, author of The First 90 Days: Critical Success Strategies for New Leaders at All Levels, gives what I feel has been the best example of the development stages of businesses yet. He refers to the four stages that a business can be in as the STaRS model.
Start Up
Turn-around
Realignment
Sustaining Success

The real estate blogosphere has not been a buzz about the new self dubbed real estate 2.0 company, Connect Realty.
I have been watching Connect Realty for a couple of months and have been waiting for it to pick up some steam. From what I can tell, Connect Realty is tech and internet focused, so I thought they [...]

So, how do you get a happy real estate agent that you want to recruit, to even start thinking about leaving their current real estate company?
They are happy. They have a good commission split. What more could they want? Right? They aren’t going any where. Are they?
Ask them this one question to get the wheels [...]

I will repeat that.
Recruiting Real Estate Agents Has Nothing To Do With Commission Splits.
For you full service real estate company’s that are all about the 6-7% commission to the seller, what do you tell your real estate agents when a home-seller asks for a reduced commission?
How do you train your real estate agents to handle that [...]

How many real estate agents are in your board? How many real estate agents are recruit-able in your geographic area?
Don’t worry about it. The only thing that matters is what real estate agents you recruit. Get focused on your target. Get small.
Think of real estate agents at your competition as domino’s. What if you could [...]

Minimum Standards are killing the production in your real estate company. Minimum Standards are killing the motivation of your real estate agents. Minimum Standards have got to go.
What kind of minimum standards do you have in your real estate company?
Number of closed transactions per year? Number of transactions per quarter? Number of listings taken?
Minimum standards [...]
